A teenager accused of killing her newborn baby makes a court appearance. 17–year–old Cheyenne Corbett is charged with first degree murder and child abuse resulting in death.
Authorities say Corbett gave birth to a healthy baby girl on July 22nd,
then wrapped the infant in a towel and placed her in the drawer of and entertainment center where she later died. Prosecutors say the teenager's actions were calculated, and that she lied her way through the pregnancy hoping the truth would never be known. The defense however is painting a different picture, saying Corbett was scared and confused. She is expected back in court early November for a preliminary hearing.
