Tip Leads To Arrest

Video will be available shortly.

An anonymous tip from a Grand Valley resident leads to the arrest of a wanted man in Clifton Tuesday afternoon.

Mesa County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 3200 block of E Rd. shortly after 2 p.m. following the tip.

Once on–scene, the suspect, Grand Valley man Jason Clayton, fled in a vehicle then took off on foot after stopping at the intersection of 32 1/8 and D 7/8 Roads.

Clayton managed to elude deputies for a short while, however, a Fruita K-9 unit was able to track the fugitive and Clayton was finally apprehended inside a residence in the 400 block of 32 Road.

The suspect gave up without incident and is facing a number of charges including possession of a dangerous weapon and a bail bond violation, which is a felony.
