The F– 14 Jet made it's last flight Thursday with a stop at Walker Field Airport to re – fuel. The F – 14 fleet has been decommissioned because of its age and the expense to keep them in the air.

The jet took of this morning from Virginia Beach and is heading to Palmdale, California. Walker Field makes a good place to stop and refuel because of it's geographic location, good weather, and long runway. The jets have been flying for 36 years, and no other fighter jet has been active in the military as long as the F –14. The plane fueled up on 2100 gallons of fuel at Walker Field.
