Authorities say that a Victory motorcycle was traveling east on the I-70 business loop toward the 30 road intersection, when a Chevy Blazer made a left turn into the intersection with a green light.
The motorcycle hit the right side of the Blazer causing the driver of the motorcycle to be ejected and killed. The Blazer traveled more than 20 feet after the impact and rolled onto its side.
The driver of the Blazer, forty eight year old Rhonda Jennings of Grand Junction, sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash.
The identity of the motorcycle driver has not yet been released pending notification of relatives. The cause of the crash is still under investigation but excessive speed appears to be a factor.
