Gas Prices Drop To Year-Long Low

Gas prices in the Grand Valley continue to plummet, in some cases to their cheapest prices in more than a year.

At one station today gas was just $2.18 a gallon. That's the lowest price we found in a quick drive around Grand Junction today, and is about the same price people were paying in March of last year.

Most stations are considerably higher, averaging about $2.35 a gallon. That's still well below the record of $3.09 set last month.

Economist John Kilduff says fears over Iran, big hurricanes and fears over the implementation of ethanol into gasoline have all been unfounded, and that's causing oil prices to drop.
