A monument that marks the only place in the U.S. where four states meet is apparently in the wrong spot.

According to readings by the U.S. Geological Survey, the real "Four Corners" is actually 2.5 miles east of where the monument currently sits.

Surveyors say satellite maps and GPS units were used to track down the correct location.

The current Four Corners Monument is on land owned by the Navajo Nation. Officials say it will be up to them to move the monument to the correct spot or to leave it as is.
