For a second time in less than two weeks, an inmate at the Mesa County Jail suffers self–inflicted injuries.
Around 5:00 p.m. Monday afternoon, a female inmate was discovered while trying to hang herself.
EMS crews worked on the woman in her cell before transporting her to St. Mary's Hospital.
The inmate's name was not released and the incident is still being investigated.
Earlier this month, another female inmate suffered hip and pelvic injuries after jumping off of a second tier balcony.
