The Pinkest Tractor in the Country

A tractor in the middle of a Montrose street is turning heads, not only because it's supposed to be on a farm, but because it was something no one has ever seen.
In the town, some folks are spreading awareness and importance of cancer screening one tractor, yes tractor, at a time.
When Gerald Hubbard was trying to figure out what to do with his 1952 tractor, he caught his wife Sue Ellen off guard, "We should paint this one pink and it will be special."
"i said sure if it was going to be a nice soft pink," she replied but when she finally saw it., "No, It is a hot pink!"
Indeed it is.
Last summer, Gerald painted every square inch of the machine the hot pink.
Not for fun, but for a purpose.
Sue Ellen is recovering from her bout with breast cancer from nine years ago, and now the couple is looking to spread the message of hope.
The tractor had one special Montrose group in mind, the Bosom Buddies, a support group for people with cancer and those in remission.
Group member Francie Smiles says the Buddies are one of the main reasons she is here today, "I was diagnosed with breast cancer on a Monday and on Wednesday I went to Bosom Buddies and on Friday I had surgery. They have been in my life for 12 years."
The tractor was there to make sure you get screened early, and if you don't catch it in time, the Bosom Buddies are there to help you and support you.
Not to become the cancer's next victim, but, like these women, cancer's next survivor.
If you want to see the tractor in person, the Mesa County Fairgrounds is holding a tractor pull July 26th.
The Gerald Hubbard promises the Pink Machine will be there in person.
