An East Orchard Mesa man surrendered peacefully to Mesa County Sheriff's deputies after a two–hour roof–top standoff this morning.
Emergency dispatch received a call at about ten this morning of reports of an armed man on the roof of his parents' home. Earlier in the day 21–year–old Patrick Mixon had called his employer to say some people were out to get him, and he was getting ready for them to come.
The SWAT team was called and a negotiator was able to contact the man, who eventually surrendered after about two hours.
Deputies later said Mixon had a hand gun while on the roof and a shotgun and assault rifle next to the front door of the house. He was taken to Western Colorado Mental Health Facility for an evaluation.
