Whitewater Voters To Decide On Improvement District

Video will be available shortly.

Mesa County is looking to provide Whitewater residents with brand new sewer services, with the creation of a public improvement district, but it's all up to the voters.

Two questions on the November ballot, referred measure 1a and 2a, will first decide whether to form the Mesa County Whitewater Improvement District and if created, to then retain all revenue collected under TABOR so a sewer system, including piping, collection and treatment plant may be built.

Because no revenue has been collected in the past, under TABOR, debrucing would have to happen in order to collect and retain revenue.

However if passed, it will not result in a tax increase for residents.
