A retired school teacher is honored for her commitment to the community. A very surprised and tearful Joyce Hansen was named the Lion's Club 2006 Hometown Hero. Hansen has taught Sunday school for more than four decades.
She volunteers countless hours at the Police Department, has helped with The Tree House since it first opened, and has dedicated more than 1,400 hours as a cook at the Catholic Outreach Soup Kitchen. Even with all she does she remains ever so humble.
Joyce has been married for about two years and when she's not helping out in the community she enjoys motorcycle rides with her husband.
