Teen Commissioners Sworn In

Video will be available shortly.

Five new members were officially sworn into the Mesa County Teen Leadership Commission Tuesday.

Created in January of this year, the commission looks to further involve students in the community as well as tackle some of the issues currently facing Mesa County and for some members, the opportunity is their way of getting others involved in government.

"It's a way for me to learn more about government and to act as an intermediate between the government and my friends at school," Commissioner Michael Mudd said.

The commission has 13 members ranging from 9th to 12th grades and to be involved, the teen commissioners have to dedicate at least five hours of service a month.
