Group alleges McInnis broke campaign finance law
A watchdog group has asked the Secretary of State to investigate whether former U.S. Rep. Scott McInnis, who has expressed interest in running for governor next year, violated
state campaign finance law.

Denver (AP) - A watchdog group has asked the Secretary of State to investigate whether former U.S. Rep. Scott McInnis, who has expressed interest in running for governor next year, violated
state campaign finance law.
Colorado Ethics Watch alleges McInnis solicited and spent campaign funds before registering his candidacy with the Secretary of State's office as required by law.
The nonprofit group also is seeking an investigation into whether McInnis violated laws prohibiting coordination between candidates and independent “527” political organizations.
McInnis has said he's building support for his gubernatorial run and there's no 527 political group helping him.
Mike Hesse, a volunteer and former McInnis chief of staff, accused ethics watch of being a democratic front group that's attacking McInnis because a recent poll showed him leading Gov.
