A collection of lawyers, professors and judges came together in Grand Junction Monday, to discuss Amendment 40, which will appear on this November's ballot.

The constitutional amendment looks to set 10–year term limits for appellate and supreme court judges in Colorado.

The initiative is retroactive and if passed, five of the seven supreme court judges would be let go, along with 40 percent of current appellate judges.

Monday's forum was hosted by Mesa state's Criminal Justice Association and the Mesa County Bar Association.
