The Mesa County Search and Rescue Team was called Friday afternoon after a hunter went out Thursday night and never returned home.
But their services were not needed. The hunter, Bob Reed, who left Friday evening to go coyote hunting returned home safely this afternoon.
Reed said he drove his ATV to the rim of the Mesa, which is about an hour from his home, but ended up stranded after the ATV ran out of gas.
Reed said he learned a valuable lesson– take a cell phone and make sure to bring enough gas for the trip.
