This week's Grand Valley Power Student of the Week sets himself apart from others, by simply being himself.

Fruita Monument High School Senior, Mike Walsh says he encourages others to do the same and to not worry about what others think.

As the Co–President and Event Coordinator of his high school Outdoor Club, the Senior has planned several hiking, biking and, camping trips for the club. Each adventure is a small step towards his life goals.

Walsh says, "I want to travel the world. That includes going to all of the places, climbing the highest mountains, exploring the deepest valleys. These are things that most people just dream of doing, I want to get out there and actually do it."

Mike's teachers say he is a unique leader who is very determined. Although he is undecided about his future career, Mike says he definitely plans to travel.
