Development OK'D For Controversial Corner Property

Video will be available shortly.

The Grand Junction City Council worked late last night before finally approving the somewhat controversial development of a busy Grand Junction street corner.

The Gormley family decided to offer for development the long–time field using a mixture of commercial and residential properties. The city council gave the preliminary okay after having concerns addressed about traffic flow into the development.

Councilman Gregg Palmer says the project appears to have good planning that helped push the project forward, including a plan to address traffic concerns of neighbors and an appropriate mix of residential and commercial properties.

The property is zoned for light commercial business. Palmer says it's possible a dry-cleaner and drug store may be in store for the area.
