Search For City Manager Narrows To Seven

78 people from all over the western United States applied for the Grand Junction City Manager position. The search has now been narrowed down to just seven applicants.

The City Council has been searching for a City Manager since August. David Varley, one of the finalists, has been serving as the Interim City Manager.

The City Council is looking for someone familiar with Colorado and Grand Junction issues, including TABOR, water, and oil and gas drilling. Public Administration experience is also important.

The seven finalists will meet next week with the City Council and other organizations for interviewing. The city says they hope to make a selection by the beginning of next month.
