According to the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder, Janice Ward Rich, five or six voting centers got off to a slow start because the voter registration system was running sluggish. But the problem was quickly resolved, and those vote centers were up and running normally.
Ward Rich also says that voter turnout was successful. Within the first two hours of the vote centers being open, 2000 people showed up to vote.
The official election results will be released in fourteen days, where a canvassing with both political parties will take place. This process certifies the election results.
