First Teen Activity Guide Released By Mesa County

The Mesa County Teen Leadership Council should know--a lot of kids say they are bored and find little to do in the Grand Valley.

The council has created a new activity guide that should give teens some ideas of places to go and things to do that are healthy and safe.

The project comes at the request of the Mesa County Methamphetamine Task Force in an effort to keep young people away from drugs, and has suggestions for things to do in a number of areas including sports, movies, and public service projects that can help the community as well as teens.

Copies of the guide are available at the Mesa all Guest Services desk,
the old county courthouse on Rood Avenue and the Mesa County web site at The guide will also be printed as a supplement of the Grand Junction Free Press.

Since the program is new, members of the Leadership Council know there are activities they don't know about. Suggestions for more activities are being sought, and that information can be sent to Mesa County Public Information Officer Jessica Peterson; her number is 244-1640 or mailed to her at 544 Rood Avenue, P.O. Box 2000 in Grand Junction, 81502-5001.
