Arrest Made In Car-Jacking, Assault

Video will be available shortly.

An arrest has been made in connection with a nighttime car–jacking at the parking lot of St. Mary's hospital last month.

34–year–old Christopher Neese was arrested Thursday by Grand Junction Police officers.

Investigators say Neese is responsible for threatening a 21–year old woman and then stealing her SUV. A break in the case a month ago lead to the arrest when a Mesa County resident contacted law enforcement about a vehicle abandoned on their property.

Detectives found evidence in the car tracing the theft to Neese, who has a history of minor offenses that lead to his fingerprints being on record with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

He remains in the Mesa County Detention Center on charges of first degree auto theft, aggravated robbery, 2nd degree kidnapping and assault, menacing, theft, harassment and 1st degree vehicle trespass.
