Talks surrounding a community recreation center in Grand Junction are once again surfacing.
A community group is looking to have a rec center built and open to the public by 2009.
However, while the idea has been in the works for years, it's still in its infancy stage.
Grand Junction City Council members heard a presentation Monday, asking the city to pitch in roughly $20,000 to find out what direction the public would like to see the project go in.
The group would like to see amenities for all age groups including an indoor heated swimming pool and a space for dancing.
