Authorities are investigating whether an infant who died over the weekend had methamphetamine in her system.
According to authorities, after being born premature, an 8–day–old girl died at St. Mary's Hospital Sunday. Investigators with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office believe the infant had meth in her system at the time she was born. However, the lead investigator in this case was involved in Monday's shooting on Glade Park and with that incident still not resolved, it's proving difficult to look into the death at this time. Officials say the baby's death is still a top priority.
So far no arrests have been made at this time.
