Grand Junction City Council approved the final contract Wednesday for the construction of a downtown parking structure that's been in the works for decades.
The contract is worth roughly $2.2M.
Shaw Construction was awarded the contract and the passage solidifies a guaranteed maximum project price of $7.5 which was what city engineers originally planned on.
Although there was talk of eliminating some of the garages aesthetic qualities, the structure will be built to its original specs thanks to the Downtown Development Authority, who kicked in an additional $200,000.
The structure is slated to open by November 2007.
