On Saturday, two people were killed while riding their bikes.
Luckily, Thursday night's accident was not fatal. According to the Grand Junction Police Department, at about five o'clock a woman was walking her bike across the street at the intersection of 28 1/4 Road and North Avenue, when a car trying to make a left turn onto North Avenue hit her.
The woman did have reflector on the back of her bike and a flashing head light on the front of it. The two people that died over the weekend did not. The woman was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with minor injuries. The driver was ticketed for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
