Fatal Rollover Accident

A car rolls more than three times early Sunday morning ejecting and killing the driver. The truck rolled across two lanes of traffic and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol is under investigation as a contributing factor to the crash, which happened just after 4 a.m. Sunday morning.

According to the Colorado State Patrol the Toyota Tacoma pick up truck was traveling east on River Road just west of the 20 Road overpass when the truck veered off the left side of the road and hit a reflector marker.

The truck rolled more than three times coming to rest on it's side. Speed is believed to have contributed to the crash and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the car was a 40 year old man, belived to be from Telluride. His name has not been released pending a positive identification by the Mesa County Coroner's office.

The crash is still under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol.
