Some 25-million people are expected to travel during the 12 day thanksgiving period, and airlines and airports everywhere are gearing up for the busy days ahead.
Grand Junction's Walker Field Airport is about 75 to 80 percent full which is normal for this time of year. However, come this weekend they expect to be more than 100 percent full which means they may have to deny some passengers boarding.
Airport officials say with new security restrictions in place it is best to arrive at least two hours early for your flight because lines may take a little longer because many travelers are still unfamiliar with the new rules.
The Transportation Security administration now only allows liquids, gels and aerosols in three containers of one ounce or less. Items must be contained in one quart–sized clear plastic bags.
