Clifton Apartment Fire Leaves 13 Homeless

A fire sweeps through a Clifton apartment complex Wednesday morning leaving 13 people homeless and causing 100–thousand dollars in damages.

When firefighters arrived at 6:15 this morning they found a lower unit of the four–plex engulfed in flames. Several firefighters checked remaining apartments for occupants as others began knocking down the flames. Fortunately all residents of the units were out safely when units arrived.

Now investigators are working to determine the fire's cause, which completely engulfed the living room and front bedroom of the lower unit.
Apartments on the upper level suffered smoke damage.

Four families were affected. The American Red Cross says they will provide them with food and shelter for two days. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is also pitching in to help.
