A Grand Valley man was hospitalized and another is under arrest after an argument over a woman got out of control.
Donald Wayne Eldridge was taken into custody early this afternoon following a fight that occurred at 1:45 Friday morning in the 400 block of Ridgeway Drive in the Redlands.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department, Eldridge tried to pull Eric Scott Richardson from his car during an argument. Officer T.J. Rix says Eldridge tried to stab Richardson in the throat, and the victim pulled the knife away and his hand got cut."
Richardson was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment of a severe cut to his hand.
Eldridge fled the scene and was found early this afternoon following a lead from a citizen. He will be charged with second degree attempted murder, second degree assault and criminal mischief. He remains in custody at the Mesa County detention center.
