Glenwood Springs Hotel Opens Holiday Display

If the train show and other things going on in the Grand Valley aren't enough for you perhaps Glenwood Springs has your cup of holiday cheer.

Friday night the historic Hotel Colorado kicks off the holiday season with fireworks and the lighting of their decorations. Each year more than 2600 volunteers hang over 200,000 lights at the 128–room hotel.

Visitors from around the world walk the halls on self–guided and guided tours of the building, which is more than a century old and modeled after a French palace.

The Hotel Colorado is just off Interstate 70 next to the Hot Springs pool and the bridge crossing the Colorado River.
