The Mesa County Board of Commissioners took matters into their own hands to ask for a community plan for Clifton and Fruitvale, and today heard about the results of their efforts.
The plan takes an unprecedented look at the two communities that more than 35–thousand people call home. Commissioner Janet Rowland says the plan identifies more than just public works like streets and sidewalks but includes economic development, public safety and health and neighborhood development.
Rowland says it will take a lot of people to get the plan off the ground, including many divisions of the County, and wants to encourage businesses to give input into the plan. Additional work on the plan will begin next year.
