A contractor for an oil and gas company has died in an industrial accident today in western Colorado. The accident happened Monday at around 1:15 p.m. on ME road near Collbran.
Preliminary reports indicate the man was working on a gas line owned by EnCana Oil and Gas. According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, the worker had some type of head injury, however the exact cause of death has not been released. An investigation from EnCana, OSHA and the Coroner's office is underway. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
