Public Input Wanted For New GJ Park

Video will be available shortly.

The first of two open houses concerning the future of Las Colonias Park in Grand Junction were held Wednesday and city officials are asking residents for their input.

The current design of the park allows for many amenities including picnic areas, a multi–use amphitheater and a whitewater kayak course along the river.

The concept for the park was developed in 1998, but with the construction of the Riverside Parkway, plans had to be amended and developers say with the park's potential, public input is crucial.

Comments will also be accepted during Thursday's open house at Two Rivers Convention Center, between 4:30-7 p.m.
