A 17-year-Old driver hit a teen boy in a crosswalk Friday, sending the boy to the hospital. This is the second teen driver involved in a pedestrian accident in as many days.

The 14–year–old was one of three boys crossing E1/2 Road at 311/2 Road when an S.U.V. driven by a 17–year–old girl hit him. Some reports say the east–bound Toyota 4–runner was going as fast as 45 miles per hour in a 35 mile–per–hour zone when the driver entered the crosswalk area. The impact sent the boy 20 feet before he hit the pavement. The driver told Colorado State Patrol TrooperTrent Hischke that she was in traffic at the newly–redesigned intersection when the accident occurred. She told the officer she was going around traffic waiting to turn onto 31 1/2 Road when she hit the boy, who she says she did not see.

The State Patrol says the boy is in good condition with a head injury and has little memory of the incident at this time.
