With Christmas less than a month away many people around the Grand Valley are picking out their Christmas Trees this weekend.
Bookcliff Gardens, a local nursery, says they have seen a growing trend the past couple years of people buying artificial trees. The nursery says one of the reasons for the increase in popularity is artificial trees are more cost effective; they are fire proof and you can use them for up to six years.
But for those who want the real deal, the local boy scout tree lot is the place to go. It has been a 30 year tradition for Boy Scout Troop 303 to sell Christmas trees, and since they opened their lot on Saturday, business has been good.
Although artificial may be the cheaper and cleaner way to go, many say it is just not worth it to sacrifice the scent of a real Christmas tree.
Boy Scout Troop 303 will be selling the trees the next two weeks, on Saturday from 9 am to 9 pm. And Sunday thru Thursday from noon to 9pm. The lot is located behind Inside Carpet One of off Highway 6 & 50.
