Now that there's a permanent City Manager in place, the search for a new Grand Junction Fire Chief is back on.
The search was postponed this past October, when an employee of the Grand Junction Fire Department compromised the search by leaking the names of the 75 applicants.
Although the City of Grand Junction will not release who leaked the information, they say the matter has been dealt with and they want to keep the focus on finding a new Fire Chief.
In the next couple of weeks the City of Grand Junction also hopes to have a plan set in place with the Human Resources Department discussing the deadlines and goals in order to start the hiring process. The city hopes to have a Fire Chief hired within the next two or three months.
