On Monday Grand Valley Transit will add a new bus route and make some changes to existing ones and riders need to be aware.
Most GVT bus stops will not change, and most people will ride the same bus. However, the timing may change as well as where they transfer from one route to another. According to a spokesperson with the Mesa County's Regional Transportation Planning Office, the route changes will give riders a more direct connection between Clifton and the Mesa Mall. There will also be a brand new route serving the Redlands.
It's also important to note that GVT's main transfer point which is currently located at Mesa State College is moving to downtown Grand Junction. The relocation comes as the college prepares to build a new parking garage and soccer field in the area. The new transfer station will be located on South Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets.
Riders can find updated transit system maps at more than 100 locations throughout the county including; City Market Stores, the Chamber of Commerce, all Mesa County Government Offices, area hospitals and schools or by calling 256–RIDE.
