It was a morning full of shopping across the nation. Over five thousand underprivileged kids were given the gift of warmth, thanks to Mervyn's Holiday Child Spree Program.
Here in Mesa County the doors opened early at Mervyn's as dozens of kids rushed through with shopping on the mind. The Mesa County Partners Organization teamed up with Mervyn's to help those less fortunate, as they got a brand new winter wardrobe.
"We are giving fifty five disadvantaged children the chance to buy one hundred and twenty five dollars worth of clothes," says Mervyn's Manager, Ed Bernal.
Each kid was paired up with a volunteer chaperon today to help with the clothing selection. Mesa County Partners is always looking for volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a partner, you can call them at 245–5555.
