Alcohol Suspected In Fatal Crash

A Paonia man is killed in a two-car crash and two others are sent to the hospital. Authorities say alcohol may have been a contributing factor.

The driver who allegedly caused the accident was also injured.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, 32-year-old William Porter died when a Ford pickup driven by a 17–year–old Hotchkiss boy slammed into his vehicle at the intersection of 3100 and J Roads in Delta County late Friday.

Porter was pronounced dead at the scene. Porter's passenger was seriously injured in the crash, as was a 15–year–old male passenger in the other vehicle. Both were taken to St. Mary's Hospital. Charges are pending completion of the investigation.
