Two juveniles were arrested Monday for bringing a gun onto school property in Grand Junction.
The arrests come on the heels of a stolen gun report the Grand Junction Police Department received over the weekend and soon after the report, it was learned that the couple's 15–year-old Grand Junction High student was possibly planning on trading the gun with classmates for undisclosed merchandise.
The arrest happened Monday afternoon, as a school resource and other Grand Junction officers contacted the three juveniles outside of school grounds.
Although only two of the three have been arrested, all the boys are facing charges of first-degree burglary and theft and possession of a gun on school property.
Two of the juveniles were also charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Police add that the gun was brought onto a school bus, but never on the actual grounds of Grand Junction High and there is no evidence that there was an intention of violence against other students.
