Two citizens made an arrest of a man they say stole a friends car. At 6:22 Tuesday night emergency dispatch received a call that a car stolen two weeks ago had been spotted with a man sitting in it in front of Hastings Books and Music, and that they would barricade the car if police officers did not arrive quickly. Minutes later the car reportedly left the parking lot and was followed by two people east on North Avenue to Western Implements.
When Grand Junction Police Officers arrived they called an ambulance for the suspect, whose face apparently smashed into the pavement as he was tackled while trying once again to flee. The as–yet unnamed suspect was transported to the Mesa County Jail.
