A 6-year-old girl is safe after escaping from a man after he attempts to abduct her as she was walking home from school.
Around 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon the 6-year-old girl and her 9-year-old brother were walking home after being dropped off by the school bus.
The incident happened in the area of 31 and F Roads. According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, a man grabbed her and attempted to take her away, the girl then screamed out for help and when her brother started walking toward the alleged abductor he left the scene.
The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is describing the man as a white male in his late 20s or 30s between 5'5'' and 5'10'' with a blond beard short on the sides but longer in front. He was wearing a green shirt white shorts and red hat with a flag on the front at the time of the attempted abduction.
