Wreaths Placed At Veterans Cemetery

Video will be available shortly.

In 1992 Maine businessman Morrill Worchester found he had way too many wreaths for Christmas.
Remembering a trip he took to Arlington National Cemetery, he took those wreaths to Washington to put on the graves of soldiers.

That honor has extended across the country-- including Grand Junction--as a ceremony today honors the soldiers of the past with Christmas wreaths.

A half–dozen were installed--one for each branch of the military--and one for the P-O-W's who never made it home.

This is the first time this has been done at the Western Slope Veterans Memorial Cemetery, but the Patriot Guard Riders say it won't be the last.
Next year they'd like wreaths for every grave, but to do so will require a lot of effort and money over the next year to buy and install wreaths. For information on how to help, contact the Western Slope Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
