The chase started at a Whitewater residence Thursday evening, when the man tried to go back to his former residence.
The land lord called authorities, who then attempted to contact the man at the home. The man fled in his truck when the Mesa County Sheriff's office arrived. He drove south on to the 29 Road Bridge passing cars on the right hand side while trying to escape, and ended up ramming one car off the road.
The man made his way to C ½ Road and 27 ½ Road where he crashed his truck into a ditch and fled on foot. The Fruita K – 9 Unit along with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office searched for him on foot, but ended the search a short time later.
