Weapons Violations Arrest

Video will be available shortly.

A man wanted on gun charges is arrested. Michael Pimentel led police on a chase Thursday after they tried to stop the vehicle he was in.

Pimentel was wanted after deputies found guns in his home a week earlier. After Pimentel fled from authorities, he crashed into another vehicle causing it to go off the road. He kept going and crashed his car once again, then he fled on foot.

Since the incident police have been following tips, which eventually led to his arrest Sunday morning.

Sargent Jason Lhotka, with the Mesa County Sheriff Department says, "This morning we surrounded the house and contacted the owner, we asked for everyone to come out of the house. Everyone did except one person. Eventually Pimentel came out and we arrested him without incident. After searching the room he was staying in we found additional guns and so now he will be facing additional charges."

Pimentel now faces a long list of charges including possession of a weapon by a previous offender, possession of a controlled substance by a special offender, felony eluding, reckless driving, vehicular assault, and leaving the scene of an accident.
