Flags, signs, and tears were just a small part of the heroes welcome. For one soldier, Specialist Randi Gavell, the hours spent on a plane were well worth it. Gavell who is stationed in Germany but spent 7 months in Iraq will celebrate three holidays with family including her 21st birthday. Something which the military police woman holds dear especially after being away for more than a year. Gavell will return to Germany in three weeks.
