Flu Vaccine Glut?

Video will be available shortly.

For two years there was a flu vaccine shortage, then this year it arrived late. Now with flu season right around the corner,
the Mesa County Health Department is finding many people still have not received their shots.

The Health Department still has around 4,000 doses of the vaccine left.
Since it's only good for this season, the department could stand to lose some money. However, officials anticipate they will be able to get rid of all the doses before flu season is in full swing.

While some experts say an excess is better than a shortage, too large a surplus could hamper the government's goal of steadily increasing the production and use of flu vaccines.

Flu shots are available at the Mesa County Health Department for $22.
