A group of jolly elves made the long trip to Grand Junction today to perform a random act of kindness for homeless children.
Several members of the Grand Junction Elks Club pooled the money they received from the random acts program to buy presents for children staying at the Community Homeless Shelter with their parents.
When others heard about what the Lions were doing they pitched in a few dollars too, all to provide kids they don't even know with a merry Christmas.
The gifts range from toys and games for the little ones to backpacks, sleeping bags and other useful items. But there's always a need for more. If you want to help a homeless family, bring good cheer and presents to the shelter on North Avenue.
