It's not something you see every day--a piece of wood embedded in a steel pole.
At about two o'clock Wednesday afternoon a truck hauling a wide load of lumber cut a turn at 1–70B and 32 Road a little close. The over–hanging lumber caught a light pole and pulled it onto a traffic signal. The tilting light pole also smashed a Colorado Department of Transportation traffic camera.
Traffic was reduced to one lane for a while so crews could remove the pole from the roadway. No injuries were reported. The driver has been cited for careless driving.
