State Rep. Sworn in

As his parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Thursday, Grand Junction House District 54 Representative Steve King was sworn in.

The ceremony took place in the House Chamber of the Colorado State Capitol Building before Justice Gregory Hobbs.

King will serve on the Business Affairs and Labor Committee and Judiciary Committee.

He was elected to replace former Representative Josh Penry who was elected to the Colorado Senate.

King was sworn in early because when Senator Ron Teck resigned, it created a domino effect requiring Penry to vacate his office to replace Teck, and King to replace Penry.

The 2007 Legislative Session begins January 10th. 11 News Colorado will have team coverage from the Capitol so make sure to tune in.
